United restored my faith in humanity today

As of May 25th 2026,

I had one of the craziest travel experiences of my life today flying United through Houston.

I had an 8 minute connection at IAH from BNA to PHX with a 15 minute transfer time between gates. I absolutely sprinted across the airport and somehow made it to the gate just in time.

Because my first flight was delayed and I was panicking trying to make the connection, I made a huge mistake — I accidentally left my bag under the seat on the previous aircraft.

At first I thought it was inside my carry-on. Then I checked my suitcase at the gate and realized the bag was gone.

Instant panic.

My wallet, cards, ID, everything important was inside. Without it I wouldn’t even be able to get my rental car, check into my hotel, or properly continue the trip in Phoenix.

I told the FA I would just get off and take the next flight because I assumed it was over.

But the FAs and pilots listened to my situation with incredible kindness. They contacted the previous gate, coordinated communication, and the gate agents there located my bag and told me to come get it.

So I sprinted BACK across the airport.

By the time I got back to the gate I was completely exhausted and honestly thought there was no chance I would make it.

But somehow they still helped me get on the flight.

Today honestly reminded me what humanity means.

Not policy.
Not status.
Not loyalty programs.

Just people helping another human being during a terrible moment.

I was previously Delta Platinum, but after today I can honestly say United earned my loyalty for life.

And if I ever get the chance to help another traveler someday the way they helped me today, I will do it without expecting anything in return.

Lastly, I also want to say I’m truly sorry and thankful to everyone involved — the captain, flight attendants, gate agents, and even the passengers who were affected by the situation. I know everyone just wanted to get home, and I genuinely appreciate the patience, kindness, and humanity shown to me today.

Thank you United, the crew of UA2432, and the E22 gate agents at IAH. I’ll never forget today.
