Has anyone taken french in university before?
I'm going into my last year of uni and I'm planning on taking a french elective. What are french courses like at university?
I'm at about an A2 level fully self taught for about 8 months.
The specific course i'm thinking of taking is called "practical french", a review of grammar and the course is aiming to make us fluent....... the prof said I need to be comfortable with reading, writing, speaking and listening. The prerequisite is usually grade 12 french, but I was let in even though I don't have the prereq.
It's either I take that course, or French 101 which is like A0 level for people who have never seen the language before.
The problem is, my level is between these two. I can read fairly well and I get the grammar, but my vocab and accent are awful. I'm worried i'll be bored in the intro class and that i'll drown in the intermediate one.
Thoughts? How demanding in general have you guys found first year french courses and what kinds of activities did you do?
