My mom overstayed her U.S. tourist visa for about a year and recently returned to the Philippines voluntarily.

She originally went to visit her boyfriend and intended to come back home, but ended up staying longer than planned. She’s now back in the Philippines and we’re aware that she may be subject to a 10-year bar from re-entering the U.S.

My concern is about my own travel. I previously visited the U.S. in 2020 on a tourist visa and only stayed for a short vacation. My U.S. visa has already expired, so I’ll need to apply for a new one soon because I’d like to visit again next year.

Could my mother’s overstay affect my chances of getting a new tourist visa or entering the U.S. in the future, even though I complied with my visa and returned on time? Also, aside from future travel to the U.S., will my mom have any issues traveling to other countries using her Philippine passport?

For context, I have an established business in the Philippines and can provide supporting documents showing my ties here.

Would appreciate any insights from people familiar with similar situations.

Thanks
