Commute recommendations
I will be moving to the Charleston area later this summer. I am a nurse and will likely end up working somewhere in the Roper system (downtown or west Ashley) or East Cooper Medical Center in Mount Pleasant. I have been looking at apartment complexes. It is pretty clear that the further you get from downtown the more apartment you get for your money. I am a single female and I want to prioritize safety as well as access to fun stuff. I worry that if I go as far out as Somerville or Ladson that I will not have access to the city and end up spending a lot of my life commuting. One thing that is clear is that the traffic is terrible! Does anyone have any recommendations or wish they would’ve done something differently for their living situation/commute?
