How long is a liquid diet ok?

I haven't asked my doctor how long I can live one these pharmacy nutrient drinks yet, because we're in the process of finding out the cause of my problem of having a really hard time getting normal food down.

I've had a gastroscopy recently which turned out fine, and am scheduled for an x-ray. My doctor have said it's ok that I live on these nutrient drinks, but should try normal food if I can. But we haven't discussed what I should do long term like I mentioned.

I can maybe manage 600 calories max of normal food, after that it stops for the day and I feel like I'll choke if I continue.

To be specific I've been living on Nutricia NutriDrinks from the pharmacy for about a month now. I drink 5 NutriDrink Multi Fibre, and 2 NutriDrink Protein a day. That gives me about 2100 calories in total.
