Juneteenth Caribbean Getaway
Hi, my husband and I are looking to get away June 18-22. Budget is not really a concern, but I am trying to avoid sargassum where possible. I understand it’s a natural phenomenon and not totally avoidable, but would like to try to risk mitigate as much as possible.
Things that are important:
-beach quality and water clarity
-luxury & peace, with fewer kids if possible
-direct flight from CLT
Since we’re planning a bit last minute, some options are sold out. Here’s what’s on my radar:
-Anguilla: Cap Juluca or Malliouhana (concerns about sargassum? And the transfer from SXM)
-SXM: Belmond LS (inconsistent reviews?)
-Turks: options available are Ritz, but also looking at pine cay?
-Bahamas: Coral Sands or Rosewood Bahamas
Anything I’m missing? Thoughts on this time of year and best place to go? Never done Caribbean in the summer but I am desperate for a beach trip with nice water & beachside service.
