Is this ventilation setup safe for ABS/ASA
EDIT: The exhaust hose leads to a 6” inline 345 CFM vent fan, that vents directly to the outside.
I want to print some silica bead containers for inside of the AMS. I was going to use PETG, but I’m reading that I would still have to remove them during drying. I printed this AMS riser with built in ventilation, which is meant for the fume extractor that the designer of this riser print sells. I’ve included a photo of inside of the machine, where you can see the extraction point, circled in red.
I have never printed anything but PLA and PETG, and I am a bit sensitive to even PLA, if I don’t have that exhaust fan running. But it seems that ASA and ABS are a different ballgame, when it comes to health concerns. The printer is in a spare bedroom, and vented to the outside. Is this enough? Any tips, tricks, other thoughts? For added safety to myself, I don’t plan on being in the room while printing the asa or abs. Any tips, tricks or thoughts?
Also, which is easier to print, or the better option between ASA and ABS?
Thanks!
