Air france basic ticket upgrade to flex and then cancelation
I have an international round trip planned using air france and I went with basic ticket. There are some changes to the plan and need to cancel the tickets. Trying to figure out best course of action here. As basic ticket doesn't give refund for more than govt tax, what is my option ? I have option to change the flight to the later date and I am given option to opt for flex flight. If I do that, can I cancel the new flex ticket and get a full refund ? If so, full refund means the full ticket price or just the refund for "flight charge" and other "fuel surcharges" etc are not refunded. Or do they only refund the fare difference between "basic" and "flex" flight since it was changed from basic to flex. Any insights / past experience on this ?
