Introducing Myself: DDH Mom, Founder, and Hip Dysplasia Advocate

Hi everyone,

I wanted to introduce myself and share a resource that came out of my family's experience with developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH).

I'm Leah, a mom of two children who were both born with DDH. Like many parents here, I experienced the uncertainty, appointments, and challenges that come with treatment. One of the biggest frustrations I ran into was finding clothing that actually worked with hip dysplasia devices while still being comfortable for babies and practical for parents.

That experience led me to create Little Hippy Co., a Canadian adaptive clothing brand specifically designed for babies and toddlers undergoing DDH treatment.

Our clothing is designed to accommodate:
• Pavlik Harnesses
• Rhino Cruiser Braces
• Spica Casts

The goal was simple: create clothing that is easy to put on, comfortable for little ones, and helps families maintain a sense of normalcy during treatment.

As I've become more involved in the hip dysplasia community, I've learned that DDH doesn't just affect babies. Many adolescents and adults continue to navigate hip dysplasia diagnoses, surgeries, and lifelong hip health challenges. That's why Little Hippy Co. is also committed to advocating for hip dysplasia awareness for HIPpies of all ages through our "Awareness is Hip" collection of t-shirts and sweaters for babies, kids, and adults.

I know firsthand how overwhelming a DDH diagnosis can feel, so even if you're not looking for clothing, I'm happy to answer questions, share what we learned through our family's journey, or connect with others navigating hip dysplasia at any stage of life.

Wishing all of your little (and not-so-little) HIPpies healthy hips and smooth treatment journeys. ❤️
