Newboler fork cages
Just got these newboler fork cages off of AliExpress for my gf's bike.
I love to support companies who come up with these ideas, it really helps to keep the community alive (my bike has a mix of restrap, carradice and Ortlieb) but we just bought a house and I'll get it in the neck if I go out spending stupid money again and I just wanna get her out into the world of bikepacking.
£15 for two of them with mounting hardware. They seem pretty sturdy but their zip ties have a weird plastic screw that you put in to lock them. I'm not sold on this and might swap them for hose clamps.
As you drive the screw it tightens the tie (should have watched a video first, as I made this hard for myself trying to hold it tight and turn the screw).
Not sure if mounting 2kg on each side is a good idea, we'll be riding mostly gravel and single-track?
Anyway gonna give them a local test and see how we get on and will report back.
