Alchemy cards are ruining Timeless format

I’ve been playing Timeless for a long time and it's a great format that allows us to do many fun things. But the gameplay experience is being completely ruined by overpowered, heavily pushed Alchemy cards. These digital-only designs generate absurd, unconditional value that completely breaks the game experience.

Here are the three biggest offenders that currently make the format unbearable:

  • Hydroponic Architects: A 1/2 flying creature for just U that essentially says "draw an extra card every turn". This card must be killed immediately and it comes down on turn 1. All blue tempo decks are playing it and even if you hate it, you have to play it because it is just so stupidly over-powered.
  • Wary Zone Guard: The design of this card is incredibly toxic. It provides the value immediately the turn it comes into play as well as growing to 4/4 which pushes it out of reach of the most common removal. It is paired with Strip Mine which makes sure you will never have more mana than what you have when it hit the play. It's not fun and it's almost impossible to come out of this lock, so the moment I see it hit the board, I just auto-concede.
  • Consumed by History: Not a format warping card but just another example of how over-powered Alchemy cards are. What's wrong with Brotherhood's end? A 3 damage wipe for 3 mana is a solid deal. No, you get the same thing for two mana. This is a ridiculous wipe against any tempo deck.

WotC needs to wake up. These cards need to be banned, or Alchemy mechanics need to be completely separated from Timeless. The format should be about iconic, powerful paper cards, not a showcase for broken digital exclusives.
