I use a water fountain for my cat, I clean the bowl and components with dish soap every week. However I have just found out how to disassemble my pump and the sight shocked me, as there was pink slime all around inside.

The pump is currently being disinfected with vinegar and water with everything disassembled, however I am quite anxious. My cat is not in any visible discomfort, but should I bring him to the vet for a check up?
