Scheduled surgery, currently low on pain scale - would appreciate some input

I’m scheduled for surgery this Thursday for my labral tear/FIA repair (cam/pincer). Feeling nervous about going in for surgery when I’m not currently in agony.

I’m a38 year old mom of two, an avid hiker, yogi, and generally active and adventurous woman.

The injury happened several months ago, and I’ve only had one really bad pain flare (8/10 pain, no sleep) that lasted several weeks, but since modified my lifestyle. I am on summer break from nursing school, not sitting or commuting (1hr each way) and remaining mellow with my physical activity. The change has made my pain essentially zero when I avoid external rotation of my injured side’s leg.

Surgeon wants to get me in asap so I can be healed up before returning to my commute and clinical rotations early September.

I haven’t exhausted PT, but it’s been communicated to me that with the cam/pincer deformity I’ll continue to get pain flare ups when I resume triggering activities (driving/sitting).

Thoughts? Experiences?
