Edibles confiscated at Union Station Chicago

PSA for my fellow travelers with weed.

Ran into a woman on the Lake Shore Limited who had two gummies sniffed out by a police sniffing dog at Union Station in Chicago.

Cops gave her a choice to consume them on the spot or give them over. (She gave them to the cops.)

Really shocked me, they don't have better things to do? I'm assuming their real intent is looking for scarier stuff, and once the dog alerts they have to follow thru.

But geez man, they'll never find the scarier things with all the time they'll spend confiscating weed from elderly folks (including myself here)!

So bummed out

I've seen the posts from others when this happened to them, but thought I'd get lucky and have it not happen to me.

Booked tickets to get from Vermont to Albuquerque back in March starting today. Made it to Schenectady, killing time waiting for the 7:30 Lake Shore Limited when Amtrak calls to say that due to equipment issues, they've downgraded me to coach.

My health isn't great, no way I can do overnight in a coach seat. So now I'm waiting on a call back from them as they try to rebook me not just for the LSL, but also bump my Southwest Chief reservation by a day.

If they can't do that.... IDK, I'll have to start looking at flights, I guess. I dont even want to think about prices for last minute flights...
