EDIT PS: Im going to start back up tomorrow!! Thank u all and I will apply these techniques and get this done. Although im concerned from some of the reception. Let me explain. So there the nut, above that is the washer, above that is rubber. i cut thru the washer and rubber. was this wrong am i f’ed now??? was that supposed to stay part of the sink???!!
So I’m installing a new project source faucet and drainage flange all of that stuff from Lowe’s and I got the faucet and whatever hooked up what not that I came down to the piping where the flange is in the stopper I wanted to replace that as well, what I realized was that the flange the nut I believe it’s what it’s called was stuck and when I turn it, it would just spin forever the top bottom everything would spin so I watched a couple YouTube videos and some told me this technique that technique none of them worked so I tried cutting it with a Dremel, which other people said worked for them. I used a one in 1/2 metal cutting wheel and made several cuts on the top ring and then there’s a nut too. There’s two separate metal pieces underneath the rubber I think gasket and after the cuts I’ve made now it won’t turn anymore or it turns unevenly they all alternate different ways so now I can’t get a proper cut. I’ve also been trying to use a hammer mallet and a chisel, but to no avail I can’t hire a plumber due to labor prices and affordability doing this myself so what is my next course of action? I really need help here.!!! please let me know if more photos or additional information would be helpful to find the solution. I need this done by tomorrow.
