Did Consciousness Break Evolution’s ‘Rules’?
Evolution supposedly optimizes organisms for survival and reproduction, yet many modern humans consciously choose not to reproduce.
Sex is also increasingly disconnected from reproduction and more associated with pleasure, bonding, etc.
Does this mean human consciousness can override evolutionary drives? Or is this itself an evolutionary outcome of intelligence, technology, and reduced survival pressure?
How would evolutionary biology explain this?
