I want ALL the old tips and tricks!
My family has been sewing for generations, forever and ever, with the exception of probably the most critical people for me- my parents and grandparents. My Dad and grandfathers obviously never learned beyond simple mending. And both my grandmothers were not in the picture. My mom was raised by a single dad so she never learned either.
I had the urge to learn by about 10 and have been rocking with fiber arts ever since but cant help to feel like, being self-taught, im missing out on so many tips and tricks others have developed in their craft and got passed down from elders in their family.
How did puerto ricans just boom, make beautiful clothing? It seems like Americans made theirs from nothing?? And the great depression wouldve limited sooo much supplies and forced every sewist to innovate.
So what have yall learned, either from being innovative or time-saving, or from parents and grandparents?
