Asking for Fabric Recomendations for knife pleated long skirt.
Hello wanted to make a pleated skirt, was thinking knife pleats 3cm in width with no spaces beetween them, the skirt will be 80-90 cm in length and i will probably top stich the first 30 cm of it, found an apropriate tutorial on knife pleats but you can suggest tutorials too if you want.
I was wandering what kind of fabric i should use, that will hold the pleats well in the long run, i was thinking something hard and stiff would be appropriate, but i ask here too because im a newbie.
My preference would be something hard, smooth and would look good in black, since im making a (goth??) skirt. You know something that has weight and feels not so flowy.
I allready attempted to make it with gabardine but failed, idealy i would like something much heavier and glossier, smoother.
