I'm in a bit of a conundrum. I think I figured out the cause to my constant burping and occasional right upper abd discomfort. Took a GI Map test that shows fairly significant dysbiosis. I won't post the whole thing, but the 3 main abnormals are:
- Elevated fusobacterium spp
- Elevated streptococcus spp
- Low levels of faecalibacterium prausnitzii (beneficial bacteria)
The most concerning is the elevated fusobacterium as we know what that can cause. Based on what I know the fuso can be fed by high-protein, low fiber diets. My issue is that I healed most of my inflammatory/autoimmune issues being first on carnivore for about 6 months, and now I eat animal based (mostly beef) with a mod-high amount of fruit daily. I feel a lot better on this diet than when I was eating lots of vegetables and no meat, so I'm concerned if I have to switch to a lower protein diet. Not seeking medical advice but wondering if I can lower the fusobacterium/raise the prausnitzii with some type of supplement or if anyone else has dealt with this as well?
