Dragonkindled by Morgan Lee Clasper - YA Fantasy - 30th June 2026

A wounded dragon.

Two enemies bound by magic.

And a secret bond that shouldn’t exist.

Seraya is an outcast who hunts dragons for her ruthless Reaver gang. Every dragon she kills feels like betraying a piece of herself.

Mikhail is the son of a powerful Citylord. But beneath the wealth and privilege lies the shame of failing to form a Dragonbond.

When a hunt in the Frozen Wilds forces their paths together, they corner a wounded dragon... and discover something impossible.

The dragon responds to their magic—but only when they’re together.

No two riders have ever bonded with the same dragon. Forced into an uneasy alliance, Seraya and Mikhail must unravel the secret behind their connection, all while keeping the dragon alive.

Because if Seraya’s gang discovers what she’s hiding, they won’t stop until the dragon—and everyone protecting it—are dead.

I'm trying to find a YA fantasy book series that I remember reading about 10 odd years ago. I remember lots of details, so hopefully this will ring a bell for someone.

- The series is probably 2000s or 2010s, maybe earlier but unlikely. Young adult fantasy, set in the real world.

- I don't remember the main character's name, but he was male and Punjabi in ethnicity. The female deuteragonist was named Sen or Seb or something like that. The main cast had a steampunk airship that let them travel around. The ship's captain was Scottish.

- Main gist of the story was that the main character's father discovered a way to access alternative Earths/universes, before disappearing mysteriously. Finding him is one of the main plot points.

- One of these Earths featured a Muslim Britain that ran on steam power as they had no electricity. One Earth was quarantined because it was full of nanites that had gone rogue. One Earth was a huge disk/ring inhabited by intelligent dinosaurs.

- One of the main antagonists was an alternate version of the main character who had been turned into a cyborg. I remember him being perpetually cold because the nanotech drew on his body heat to function.

- I remember in one of these books, they travel/jump to the quarantined Earth and find huge pillars of 'assimilated' humans, or nanotech replicants of them or something. The nanites had absorbed all life on the planet.

- I never finished the series, which is why I want to track it down. There must have been at least 3 books, probably more.

Thanks for any help you can provide!
