Form 1 Disapproved for Serial/Model Mismatch - Any Way to Correct Without Restarting Full Wait?
Just had my eForm 1 disapproved and I’m trying to figure out the fastest way to correct it without eating another full 60+ day wait if possible.
Reason for disapproval was:
“Original manufacturer, serial number and/or model should match exactly as stamped or engraved on firearm.”
They also added:
“Please resubmit with corrected information. Fingerprint cards and photos must be submitted with your new application.”
I’m assuming I probably formatted the manufacturer/model incorrectly compared to what’s actually engraved on the receiver.
Question is:
Is there any way to contact the examiner directly and have them reopen/correct it?
Or once it’s disapproved, is a completely new Form 1 the only option?
Has anyone had success emailing the NFA division/examiner and getting expedited approval after resubmitting?
Also, do I really need to resend fingerprints/photos if they already have EFT fingerprints on file from the original submission?
This was for a Micro Draco SBR if that matters.
Appreciate any help from anyone who’s dealt with this before.
