I am currently a welding student and ive had a lot of problems with burning my left hand glove from being too close to the weld pool i have also done some home foundry stuff like melting aluminum cans ect..

So i took a piece of the foundry’s insulation aka ceramic insulation and crammed it between my gloves heat shield and the glove itself and now i don’t feel a thing when i weld now but its degraded so im making another one but i want it to be better than the previous one any ideas on how to increase jts durability?

Also if you have any suggestions on gloves, heat shields or other welding equipment please put links in the comments it will be greatly appreciated
