MD School List Help 515/3.96 ORM
Hi everyone, would really appreciate feedback on my current school list. I’m trying to have realistic schools with a few reaches and have around 30–35 MD schools total. I’m not planning to apply DO for now.
My application is probably more service/community-health oriented than research-heavy, although I do have substantial research experience.
Stats:
• cGPA: 3.96 sGPA: 4.00
• MCAT: 515
• Engineering major at T50
• ORM Asian male applicant, NJ resident with some ties to CA
Experience:
• ~1,400 hours in metabolism research (several co-author manuscripts + poster presentation), ~600 hours clinical employment as nursing assistant and optometry assistant, 100 shadowing hours, ~400 hours direct nonclinical volunteering/community service, TA, student leader in organizing free health clinic, strong leadership in other student organizations serving underserved populations (+poster presentation), involvement in hospital volunteering and club sports
- application themes are service/underserved populations, community health, social determinants, global health, leadership. I like research but would consider myself more service-oriented overall.

Main questions:
- Is this list too top-heavy or low-yield-heavy for a 515?
- Which schools would you cut first if trying to get closer to ~30–35 schools?
- Are there any not listed schools I should consider?
- Does the list have enough realistic MD schools, or should I add more baseline options?
Would appreciate honest feedback
