Islamic brand startup

I’m in the early stages of building a modest/halal lifestyle retail brand in the U.S. and I’m trying to build a reliable long-term supplier network before scaling.

Right now I’m mainly focused on:
- quality scarves/undercaps
- modest casual dresses
- eventually home goods, fragrances, and Ramadan decor

I’ve already tested a few Alibaba samples and honestly struggled with inconsistent fabric quality, so I’m trying to learn how experienced brands properly source reliable suppliers without wasting money on poor-quality inventory.

I’m not looking for dropshipping or “trending products.” I’m looking for:
- reliable manufacturers/suppliers
- better fabric quality
- reasonable MOQs
- good communication
- suppliers experienced with long-term retail partnerships

For those who have built fashion/lifestyle brands:
- How did you find trustworthy suppliers?
- Did you use sourcing agents?
- Is Turkey/UAE worth it compared to China for scarves/modest fashion?
- How do you properly test quality before placing bulk orders?
- Any supplier recommendations or sourcing advice?

Trying to build carefully and sustainably instead of rushing into bulk inventory.
