Took our 12 year old kitties to the vets today.

This is Oscar. We took him to the vet today, to get his jab and worming tablets. We let his petplan run out as we've been struggling with money. So we went into have a check up, and the vet asked if we wanted his blood pressure taken, something we have not heard of in a vets. The first time is free. So we said why not!. So she took him into a backroom while we sat in reception. Then the vet came out and said he had high blood pressure, and his claws had also curled round into his pads. I know that was rubbish as we check his claws, he has scratch pads and rugs to pull at. We were given a medicine solution to put in his food, and am being given more tablets for him on Tuesday. We were also given a cone for him if he licks his paws. Now I'm not so sure about this, we were charged a fortune and oscar is a usually healthy cat usually apart from his teeth which are mostly gone now. I'm asking if I can trust the vet or if they inflated his symptoms. This is my usual vet also. Oh oscar is an indoors cat also.
