I’m planning to buy a Tesla Model Y soon and keep seeing discussions about HW3 vs HW4 vs AI5 (Hardware 3 vs Hardware 4) — and now even mentions of future HW5/AI5.

Can someone break down the real differences between these in simple terms? Specifically:

- What actually changes in terms of sensors/cameras and processing power

- Does HW4/HW5 meaningfully improve Autopilot or Full Self-Driving today, or is it more about future potential?

- With HW5 expected at some point, how should that factor into a buying decision right now?

- From a long-term ownership perspective (5–8 years), how big of a deal is it to get HW4 vs HW3?

Would really appreciate insights from owners or anyone who has compared these or is following Tesla’s hardware roadmap.

Thanks!
