Registering for PMPT Membership and Paper A prior to starting CT1
Hello,
I wonder if anyone can help. I am currently doing ad-hoc locums and am due to start CT1 in August. I have registered with the Royal College as stated we must do before starting in the welcome email, however for employment it won't let me put a date in the future (ie. 5th August 2026) so I have had to put the current date.
As a result, when going to book Paper A for July it is saying the fee is the rate for current members as it believes I am in training but I have not yet started. The deadline for registering for this exam is tomorrow and I am really unsure if I can book the exam at this rate as I am not technically a trainee yet. If not, is there a way I can register an account as a not-yet core psychiatry trainee?
Sorry if this is confusing, I would appreciate any advice. Especially if anyone has been in this situation where they have applied for pre-membership and a written paper before having commenced training.
