Greetings. I am considering renting in downtown Youngstown. I’m quickly approaching 50, but still young at heart (never married, no kids Lol). I lived all over the place including VA Beach, Chicago, San Diego etc, but after 30 years, it was time to move back “home.”

I see 2 or 3 apartment buildings that look decent; all remodeled and somewhat trendy. But how is the area in general- cool or boring? Safe, or watch yo back constantly? Night walking/bars? I might start a master program at YSU eventually. Regardless, figured I’d give city living another year before I fade into the suburbs and watch Jeopardy each night.

Thoughts? Any advice from those who live/have lived downtown in the recent would be much appreciated!
