How much can headphone tuning be changed by EQ? If you took two headphones of similar "quality" but with vastly different tunings, could you theoretically EQ them to be really similar?

I don't know how EQ works. I press the AutoEQ button and it does the thing and sometimes the sound will be more pleasant but IDK but is even going on half the time. But I know once you get into the hobby, learning how to EQ is very important.

The question is, if you accidentally purchased something that may not be to your tastes tuning-wise, would it be worth the entire runaround of replacing, demo'ing, and returning several different headphones until you reach the one you like? Or can you just skip most of that if you're really good at doing the EQ thing? Are the differences between each different headphone tunings intrinsic to what they are or are different headphones just basically different "starting points" for consumers who don't want to fitz around with EQ to find what they want?

Unrelated, but does anyone have a good EQ preset for the HD 480 Pro to make it more exciting and less flat?

It took an entire region cycle and hundreds of strongbox fodder, but I finally managed to bump up to 1%

Just got a used set of DCA Aeon Closed X. Did I get a really bad set of pads with these or do they just have terrible passive noise cancellation in general? And if, so are there any pads that help with noise cancellation without affecting the sound?

In a completely quiet room I like these a little bit more than my FT1s. They're like 80% of the way to the sound of my favorite headphones, the Edition XS.

But the moment I take this out in a place with any ambient noise, like coffee shops or even an office, I can much hear everything at a vague level, and I have to crank up my volume to levels that are potentially uncomfortable to overcome the background noise. Even a 5mph wind is enough to drown out the noise of my headphones. I do not have this problem with my FT1s using a set of Xenon Mod House suede pads, with which I can hear everything clearly in these kinds of settings at even lower volume levels.

Did I just get a really used set of pads or is the seal just naturally not isolating enough for non-quiet settings.

Is there anything I can do to fix this or should I just return these things, because if I'm only able to use these in a quiet room, I have the Edition XS for that.

Are there mods to add just some really hateable villain dude who we can fight over the course of a playthrough?

Like some sort of Gary Oak, or Vergil, or Jetstream Sam or some asshole I wanna keep punching over the course of a playthrough but then he escapes and then I have to meet him again. Outside of Miraak since he only matters for Dragonborn characters.

Shadow of Skyrim only really takes effect when I lose, and then the guy is dead-dead when I come back to kill him, so it's not something that can occupy a playthrough.

Are there any mods for a rival figure or overarching villain to fight? Evil bandit McGee or something?

Is a DCA Aeon Closed X a good complement to the FT1 Closed?

From what I hear the Aeon is a planar with some pretty decent treble, close to the tuning of something like the Edition XS though lacking in bass and not as good in sound quality.

The FT1 is pretty fun and heavy in bass. I've tamed it a bit and added some soundstage using the Mod House Xenon pads, but would the Aeon Closed X be enough of a tuning difference and a driver difference thanks to the planar drivers that it would be worth having as a complement? Or is it not enough of a different buy/can be reproduced through EQ'ing the FT1?
