Hoya lacunosa "tricolor Bruno" is "stealth" blooming.

Hoya lacunosa "tricolor Bruno" I planted from a cutting in August. I grew a large hump of leaves and then half of it collapsed and died off. It grew "vines" rapidly and I wasn't watching the back side. Now it is cascading down the back of the Aerogarden. Recently, I noticed dried pedicels on the grow deck. It bloomed several times and I didn't get to see the blooms! Tiny blooms.

One of several leaves on my H. mathilde splash. The Hoya had pretty much stopped growing in late november. Suddenly I have a new shoot. Now, some of the older leaves are showing these ominous signs. I had one Hoya, H. kerrii variegated that had flat mites but I have treated all the Hoyas twice for flat mites (a week apart). Could this be flat mites or something else?

I planted 2 cuttings (2 leaf, 1 node) in early December in this Aerogarden Bounty Elite Artisan and this particular cutting has produced these astoundingly beautiful leaves. Just wondering if this huge amount of variegation can survive.

I have an Aerogarden Bounty Elite with two cuttings of Hoya bella outer variegated that are growing and blooming furiously. In the foreground, there is a small start of Hoya bella inner variegated that is just growing slowly as it was planted recently from a cutting.

The Hoya bella outer variegated is consuming 1 Aerovoir of water (4 liters) every 3-4 days! That is a lot of water for a Hoya. The blooms have lasted more than 3 weeks since beginning to bloom and more are on the way. None of the blooms has "fallen" off yet. This is amazing to me.

Last July, I planted Hoyas in my Aerogarden Bounty Elites - fully expecting the experiment to fail but it is/was an overwhelming success. I have a Hoya bella outer variegated that has over 40 blooms and is sucking down over 4 liters every 3 days!!!

My new experiment ... see if I can grow mesembs in an Aerogarden Bounty Elite. The experiment will begin with a well established Lapidaria margaretae. Sources on the web say that growing mesembs in hydroponics works. They are such unique plants with unique requirements so I have deep doubts. I think it will rot. I am adding an airstone to the garden to make sure the nutrient solution is well oxygenated. Again, I am expecting this to be an abject failure but only time will tell. Even if it grows, how will it handle dormancy and such?

Any thoughts, suggestions, ideas, etc will be appreciated.
