Looking for a new role - Finance/Fintech

Hi everyone, I have previously worked in payment operations, accounting and customer service.

My most recent work experience is at a fintech PSP where I've supported payment operations, handled reconciliations and monitoring transactions. I am also proficient with multiple accounting tools such as Sage Intacct, Xero & Quickbooks.

Familiar with excel as well (Pivot tables, filters, vlookup etc).

My total YOE is about 2 years, Almost been in the UAE for a year and recently due to the situation my company decided to lay off everyone and shut down the Dubai office hence I've been on the look out for the past month, Seeking something fulfilling in finance/fintech, open to operation roles in a similar space.

Have been grinding Linkedin & Indeed, a few calls but nothing concrete yet unfortunately, It seems like a lot of companies are hesitant to make a firm decision so here I am.

Feel free to comment or DM if you're aware of anything suitable, Thanks!

Entry into finance?

I saw a similar post so wanted to make one with my background and priorities included and give it a shot.

I'm a 2025 graduate, have previously worked at a fintech in payments. It did not include much of finance, It was mostly operations along with basic accounting work such as reconciliation. I'm now looking for my next move and want to work in finance and am looking for guidance on what to go for.

I've been recommended aml/compliance by a few people but where I'm from (UAE) junior roles for aml/compliance are pretty rare.

Are there any other roles that have an "easy" entry, I am of course open to working my ass off for anything stable. My priority is it being easy to enter (I'd like to get a new job soon) and good pay. I'm okay sacrificing my WLB for a few years if it means I'll be financially stable in the long term.

Along with the roles, I'd appreciate any advice about what skills to learn first to get a role soon.

Thanks in advance!

Opportunities in Finance

Hi everyone, I was recently laid off as my company shut down and am currently looking to explore opportunities in finance and looking to upskill towards the same. I'm confused on what to actually spend time on since there are so many options, I'd like to hear from people working in finance in the UAE right now.

What is actually hiring right now and what will be a long-term viable career choice considering AI? My background is in fintech, payment operations. While I could potentially get another role doing the same work I'd like to move into something more closer to finance than operations. Open to advice, Feel free to ask any questions about my background, I might answer in DMs if it's something too specific. TIA!

What to actually spend time on?

Hi everyone, I was recently laid off from my previous company as they shut down their office. I am currently looking for ways to upskill and exploring long-term career options in finance.

I have previously worked at a fintech in payment operations, This role was not very skill-heavy but I did learn alot about payment flows, While I could probably get another role doing the same thing I want to get into something more finance related than an ops-supporting role.

What are some roles that I can target as someone with experience in payments, I've tried my luck with compliance roles since that seems to be the natural pivot for most people in my industry however that hasn't been working well for me as junior roles in compliance are very hard to comeby where I live (UAE)

Any advice would be appreciated, Feel free to ask any questions about my background, If it's something too specific I'll prefer to answer in DMs.

Hi everyone, I unfortunately got laid off and am looking for opportunites in non-tech, Operations in Fintech or any other roles in Finance.

I have experience working for a payment service provider, I've helped develop an internal P2P channel and have worked across multiple different countries with different types of payment channels, performed bank reconciliations and monitored and handled transactions processing.

Please DM or Comment if you know of any suitable opportunities.

(Repost so if you recall seeing it, it's not dejavu) :)
