Kicked off the basketball court at my local park by staff
Looking for advice. For the past few months, I’ve been skating on the outside basketball court in my local park.
I want to start by saying I’ve been incredibly respectful of other people using it, I always look to see if people are just using the half court and ask if I can use the other part. If it’s too busy, I leave, or try the tennis courts, if those are busy, I leave.
I’ve seen some staff walking around from time to time, I always wave and they haven’t seemed to care. Today a nice man, I could tell he felt bad, asked me to not skate there anymore. I went inside the office to get further clarification, the staff there said it was a policy bc they don’t want the court paint damaged. There’s no way I’ve marked up that court! I wear jam plugs, and clear rocks off the court. There are already cracks and scraps there from the court just existing outside.
Anyways, I’m thinking of just continuing to go, if they want to ticket me or trespass me, fine. Let them, I’m stubborn. Has anyone fought the law, and won? 😭😂
