Iwtl how can I train myself to think faster, spot contradictions quickly, and improve critical thinking like a lawyer or courtroom investigator? Looking for exercises, habits, debates, puzzles, or even video games that genuinely help

I’ve recently become interested in improving my quick thinking, critical reasoning, and ability to notice contradictions during conversations or problem solving. One thing that inspired me was seeing how lawyers, detectives, and courtroom-style characters can stay calm under pressure, analyze statements carefully, and respond intelligently in real time.

Right now I feel like I often think too slowly, miss details, or fail to connect information quickly enough. Sometimes I understand things only after the situation is over. I want to improve this skill seriously over time, not just become “smarter” in a vague way.

I’m specifically looking for practical methods that actually train the brain, such as:

Exercises for faster thinking and reasoning

Ways to improve logic and pattern recognition

Methods to become better at spotting contradictions or weak arguments

Techniques lawyers, debaters, investigators, or chess players use

Games or activities that train real analytical thinking instead of pure reflexes

Video games that encourage deduction, evidence analysis, strategy, or decision making under pressure

Reading habits or note-taking methods that improve mental clarity

Any routines that helped you become mentally sharper in everyday life

I’m especially interested in things that improve:

Critical thinking

Logical reasoning

Mental flexibility

Attention to detail

Verbal analysis

Decision making under pressure

Thinking calmly instead of emotionally

For video games, I’ve already started becoming interested in games like the Ace Attorney series because they force you to pay attention to testimony and contradictions. I’d love recommendations for similar games or other training methods that genuinely helped people in real life.

I’m not expecting instant results I’m more interested in long-term brain training and building these skills gradually over months or years.

What would you recommend?
