A psychological analysis for Leon Winston (Try Begging)
I made this solely based on the manhwa, with a few insights from the novel. He's my fav ml. I hope you all like this. Makes sense? Opinions?
About Leon:
Personality:
Maybe part of his sadistic nature came from the harsh treatment of his mother, and we have glimpses that he says she always favored his brother over him.
Leon's hair being messy around Grace is because she is an outsider in his world, so he didn't feel like using his 'composed' side 100%;
It also adds that while being polite, he never acted as if he was superior to her, because as a child and as a man he always unconsciously knew she had some kind of power over him BECAUSE
Grace being an outsider in his life could be compared to a poisonous animal: People can tell you it is dangerous, but something about them is so hypnotizing, that you can't help but to want to get closer because even if you hear it is dangerous, you still want to see for yourself why it is like that. In my mind it makes sense comparing her to a poisonous animal, I just don't know if I could explain it well. Maybe comparing with a drug could explain better He NEVER uses his status to show power over her The closest is his physical strenght, since we can see he can easily lift her with one hand by her neck And also: Leon is a massive abuser, BUT he has a lot of restraint towards her giving the things he did when using the torture chamber Which is why I think that if she talked about their memories as children he would not have tortured her, because those memories are dear to him as well
The moment he shoots Fred just for the fright, it is a rare moment he is acting for her but his hair is not undone because he was using his facade. Looking the underlines: He wants to kill him, but won't do it because she asked.
About his mother:
Well, she saw Leon almost taking Grace over the pool table. Jerome focused on scientific studies since childhood while Leon was showing sneaking out either to walk or just to meet Grace. For her, Jerome is the Golden Child while Leon is the rebel son who hardly obeyed her.
His actions could be a huge backfire on her as well, since it was her idea for Leon to join Military, but now she wants him to quit. Probably because she thinks he is too obsessed with his work, and while Leon is truly working, when Richard did it, it was probably the cheating running up Maybe she wants him to quit military because she sees her husband in him, and when Leon is away she recalls how Richard would cheat on her or just act a workholic. I took a few prints of him to analyze his expressions for the analysis, and in most of them I found the pattern with his messy hair One hair lock for everytime he is alone with her. Two for when he acts cocky/bossy (such as the moment he does her in front of blindfolded Fred) and more for when he's at the peak of his nerves but still tries to restrains himself
Do you think Leon ever crossed a line? Like, I feel like although he sexually and physically abused her, he never crossed the line when it came to her emotions
He said that he would kill her, but we know the true thing keeping him from doing that is his inner child, who stills longs for her because she was the shape of the happiest moments of his life.
He keeps drawn to her because she was a breath among long moments of suffocation
Also, although not in the common sense of the word, but Leon's relationship with his father could be taken as abusive
Because he idolized Richard to the point that he couldn't see the bad things his father did
There's a chance he wanted to stay off his shadow, which could have created a subtle resent for Richard by Leon. And as much as he wants to stay off that, it's also something he doesn't want wholly because it was both a bad and good thing from his past
