Valuation thankless task
Hi everyone,
Been doing this a while, so looking for some experienced advice.
Being tasked by the VP Finance (my boss) to do some valuation work. I can do it and have done before, but it’s going to turn into a repetitive task with no value added and no thanks, along with updates every time we change plans.
I expect updates and plan changes roughly every other week. I already talked with her and she understands I need help to do this task (as in, I have enough other duties i just don’t have the time). But so far I’ve received no other help and she keeps asking me how it’s going. Im clear with her I’ve had no time to work on it.
Do you think I should try to convince her this is going no where? She thinks the ceo will like it, but I think he will complain about everything and fiddle constantly and never be done. Meanwhile I would prefer to be doing things that actually change our decisions or count toward my goals or help us from and fp&a perspective.
In general i like her and want to help her.
Or do you think I should continue to say I’ll work on it when I’m free which is basically a few hours per week (like 10% complete in the last 2 months?) Any other thoughts or suggestions?
