Double Sesamoidectomy Australia
Hi guys, been dealing with left foot medial sesamoid stress fracture with progressive AVN + Arthritic Lateral Sesamoid. I know that this condition is really rare and finding a confident Foot and Ankle Surgeon that will
do this surge is hard to find per my experience.I already had consultation with 4 different foot & ankle surgeons and all of them are quite hesitant to do the double sesamoidectomy + big toe fusion despite of my endless efforts of having conservative done in the last 9 months.My symptoms didn’t get any better I tried new custom orthotics, shockwave therapy after Camboot/Immobilisation which I believe just made me a lot worse because of deconditioning. And the to make things worse, I developed a right medial sesamoid stress fracture with AVN after 5 months of compensating with the original left foot injury.
I asked 2 of the surgeon’s I consulted of there experience of performing double sesamoidectomy and both of them said they haven’t done it before. I know most of the post here in reddit are from USA.
I am just hoping if someone can share there experience of having the double sesamoidectomy + big toe fusion done here in Australia and also share the practice name.
