Hello, hope you can share your tips and wisdom with me, I am from Mexico and intend to do a road trip from Laredo, TX to the Grand Canyon with 4 other friends, we intend on renting a big suv at LRD airport and drive from there.

Are Mexican citizens driving a US-plates rental car allowed thru CBP checkpoint? if so, what car documentation would I need in order to prove everything is in order and be allowed thru checkpoints?

we would be visiting lots of places near the border like the Pima air museum, Roswell, Tucson, white sands, etc so I assume we will go thru several CBP checkpoints coming and going, any advice is welcome.
