Baby Carrier

I never baby wore with my first as he just didn’t get on with it so just stuck with the pram but it seems like a necessity to survive getting anything done the 2nd time round.

Has anyone got any recommendations for a really easy to put on carrier from newborn? I don’t want it to be a faff trying to get it on when I’m also dealing with my toddler (so pretty sure it’s a no to a sling).

1st Baby Birthday for Mum

I’m looking for a gift for my sister-in-law who will be celebrating her little girl’s 1st birthday next month. Buying for my niece is easy but I’d really like to get mum something to basically say “congratulations on being a mummy for a whole year”.

I think it’s important to acknowledge the parents too for a 1st birthday and would like it to be meaningful. Budget is ideally no more than £50 so something like a spa trip is off the cards unfortunately. I would like it to be something she can keep and remember for years to come and remind her of what a wonderful mum she is.

(Just to note, she already has a necklace with her little girls initials on it. Otherwise would have been a great idea😅)

Sudden change in 15 month old

We sleep trained our boy at about 8 months and since then he’s independently slept in his cot in his own room for his day nap and night sleep. He would sleep through the night (unless ill) and never had any fuss during bedtime routine.

On average, he wakes at 6am and bedtime is 19:30 with a 1.5hr nap during the day. Sometimes he wakes earlier and naps shorter/longer but bedtime is always pretty consistent.

However, the last couple nights out of nowhere he has screamed and cried once we put him in his cot and will only stop unless held. We really don’t want to reinforce any negative sleep associations so don’t want to encourage this but it’s exhausting. He is also waking during the night doing the same.

Is this separation anxiety? Has anyone got any advice on how to handle this without causing long term problems with his sleep?
