How long does it go on and on?
So my husband and I filled Ch13 in Jan 2023, made what they called "intent to comply payments" starting Feb 1 until we were confirmed May 12 of 2023. We were told none of those four months of payments would count towards our 3 year plan. Sure, okay.
Well, it's 3 years later, it's been a living f'n nightmare of struggle, but we're done, right? Our plan supposedly ended on the 12th. On the 14th, another payment was deducted from my husband's paycheck. We were told it depends on how long it takes USPS to send the release paperwork to the employer and then how long it takes the employer to stop the withdrawals but "anything paid to us past May 12 will be returned to you". Ive seen horror stories that it takes MONTHS to get the automatic deductions to stop. We're so so tired.
Anyway, our debtor dashboard says we currently have a $-605.00 balance. Will we be getting that back? Does anyone have any experience with how long it takes? Our lawyer isn't very communicative and her assistant doesn't know a damn thing.
I'm just so tired. This has been the worst 3 years of our lives. I need it to be over.
