What is your training like?

I am in the US and within the past year the company I work for offshored a pretty big part of our company processes within SAP to Accenture. Many of employees were pretty disappointed initially because even though it’s in SAP this particular role isn’t very technical. Basic software training would really be all that is needed. So the disappointment came from the fact that our company decided to opt for cheap overseas labor. I mean NO offense to anyone who works for Accenture by this statement.

But now now it’s gone past general disappointment to pure frustration. We understand (and clearly see) that English is not the first language for the Accenture team that is supposed to be “supporting” my department by doing simple back end processing tasks. It’s created a lot more back and forth.

I really want to know how are US companies providing training to these groups of workers? Do *you* ever feel like you need more training? Do you find it just as frustrating as we do?

It would be great if it was a smoother process, but now that we are using Accenture my job is just a lot harder.

So we are just one location, not managing a whole “fleet” of displays. We need one tv or display in our front lobby. Its main purpose would be to play a 1 minute safety video for visitors because they enter the actual facility. (Many of our visitors walk into the office area but then go into the industrial plant area.)

Corporate has given us the safety video, it’s in mp4 format. Right now I have it on a USB drive.

What’s the easiest way to do this set up that does not involve just going through clunky input settings with the remote?

I’m not sure if corporate will allow us to buy a smart tv. I 100% know they won’t allow it to connect to our WiFi. We aren’t looking to pay any type of subscription.

I’m just the admin/receptionist, but I am a very tech savvy older millennial. But when I’m not in the office (because I’m part time) I need to make sure this is easy enough for any of my coworkers to sign visitors in and then show them the video.

After I figure this part out then I’d also like to make maybe a “slideshow” of some sort that can run on replay, company highlights, values, company culture, etc. but then obviously easily switch the safety video as needed.

Hope someone can answer some pretty specific question. I am trying to figure out if ClipChamp is capable of for a very small project at work. I’ll need to ask for approval to add the software to my computer, so don’t want to go through the hassle of going through corporate red tape if it’s pointless.

So corporate gave us two videos (same video, just ones in English and one is in Spanish.) they’re about 5 minutes each, the format is mp4.

I’d like to be able to play these videos on a tv in our lobby for when we have visitors. Right now I have the videos on a usb drive and an SD card.

I know I can plug the usb drive into a tv with a USB port, but to get to the videos you have to go through the systems input screens and it’s a little cumbersome.

So ideally what I would like is to make it almost like a “movie.” — for those old enough to remember, think of a dvd movie where you would use the dvd player remote and you could select Play, Special Features, Deleted Scenes…etc.

That way they could select which language they play the video in.

If I had to put it on a dvd that’s fine too.

So can this software do that for me? If not, any idea what might be out there that a corporate IT department would approve of?
