ABS light after brake pad wear sensor plug broke.
2015 VW Tiguan
So I've had a broken plug on the front left brake pad wear sensor. Tried to bodge it by taping and glueing it together, which worked for a while. It worked fine with no faults until about a month ago (the car doesn't get used very often), and all of a sudden, the abs kicked in whilst on throttle driving down the road. ABS, traction control, tyre pressure, and a couple of other lights on the dash light up like a Christmas tree. Today, I rewired a new plug but unfortunately hasn't removed the lights. The car drives fine when i tested it with the lights on, but it's definitely not safe to drive if theres a fault with the abs.
Is it a case of the fault codes that need to be removed? Or is there more than likely a deeper issue that needs to be diagnosed.
If anybody could recommend some sort of next step, that'd be great. Im semi competent with cars, but if it's going to be ABS pumps and jobs like that, then not really in my wheelhouse.
