Protecting Debit Card

Okay, so my husband and I are at an impasse and I need ideas. He prefers to use a credit card as our daily spender bc in the case of fraud we would have more protections vs debit card.

I however am anti credit cards. I don't want to participate in a system that can be very predatory to lower income families/financially illiterate people.

He's open to the idea of closing our credit card, IF we still have a buffer of some kind to our checking account. So here's where I need help. Does anyone else find themselves in this position and what was your solution?

Thank you!

ETA: Dudes, I'm trying to figure out a system to secure our checking. You can be against my anti credit card take, but if you're not helping me find a solution, I don't care about your opinion. 😘

My husband and I are coming down to visit in June for our honeymoon. We're on a little bit a budget, so it's hard to justify buying brand new "beach" clothes. I want to go thrifting in our current town to see what we can find (mountains).

I also thought it'd be fun to go thrifting down there and pick an outfit or 2 for each other on vacation. So my question is, what are the best thrift stores around 30A and do you think we'll have luck. Thank you in advance
