Help - Single spark from CF500 (CF188)
First post here - I’m hoping to pick the brains of people with more experience with CF Moto!
I recently picked up a buggy project for me and the kids. When I crank it over there is one single spark, then nothing. Stop cranking, go again, one spark etc.. doesn’t start of course. I’ve verified it has power and ground to the correct CDI pins, also verified the trigger wire to the coil is good and not earthing (open circuit to ground). Tried two new plugs. Also the pickup measures a good resistance at CDI plug (130ohm) and nothing to ground, and puts out 0.3v AC when cranking. I’ve tried another coil and lead from a Kawasaki KL250 - same issue. I’ve just got a brand new CDI, same issue.
Can anyone offer any advice on why this is only giving one spark? There are other wires to the CDI, but AFAIK these shouldn’t affect spark if the main power in is live?
