2k clear coats - protection
Hey all, I run a side business woodworking and I’ve been doing finishing on everything lately. I do a ton of bars and grill tables. I’ve been using spar and oil based poly for most of the bars but I really want to switch to 2k clears instead if possible for convenience and durability. Spar and oil based anything takes a ton of work and time and curing.
I finally have a paint booth setup at my house it’s a 12x20 canopy with walls but can be modified for whatever I need like intake and exhaust.
I am looking at getting a supplied air system for 2k. I know it can be an issue on skin too so can anyone recommend a good setup of equipment and such that would help me be able safely work with this iso-based stuff? I’ve sprayed before with a respirator and it’s amazing stuff but the respirator just sucks since there’s really not an approved filter for it from what I’ve read.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Again this is primarily so I can spray clears without using up a week in my shop with awful fumes and long cure times.
Thanks all!!!
