Hi! I’m a 25 year old female (African American) and have lived in Ohio my whole life. As I continue to grow in my career and do things on my own, I have been heavily considering moving out of state. Ohio has typical ups and downs like any place. Cost of living is great compared to most states, pretty diverse here in Columbus, we have all the seasons which I appreciate….. buuuuttttt it’s flat here, no scenery unless you’re in VERY specific areas of ohio and even that is eh, crazy politics as most people can see on the news lol, and honestly just getting tired (like anyone else) of being in the same place, around the same people, and feeling like I’m moving at the same pace for so long. Might just be typical 25 year old problems but we will see. I’ve always wanted to visit Colorado and will be next summer so I can see what it’s like. I’ve also had a former college classmate move there and they love it. I’m a medical social worker, and will be independently licensed soon, I have a dog, like to be outside in nature (which again, sparse here in Ohio), coach volleyball, love sports (big OSU fan of course)….. just more info on me. Any advice or things I should know in terms of cost of living, weather, black community, social life, etc would be helpful! I can’t say for certain if I’d want to live wherever I decide to go forever, but I feel like life is short, I’m young, and I should probably experience something like moving and starting over at least once in my life.
