Just made 2 cups of matcha and both tasted quite bitter and a bit chalky . I used the following method :

  • 2g matcha sifted
  • 70ml of 75c water
  • whisk with chasen for around 1 and 20 seconds

What am I doing wrong here? I very much doubt it's the quality of the matcha that is at fault here since I purchased it from a specialist store who deals only in Japanese teas in stockholm (yuko ono in stockholm).
