Got a 14.5” block II build going. It’s a DD and every DD I’ve ever shot is gassy as hell but wasn’t my personal rifle. Now that I have one I’d like to know what a leftie can do to mitigate some of the gas to the face.

Radian Raptor SD has the downvent ports but does minimal for obvious reasons to help with the gas.

Maybe having my gunsmif guy swap the gas block to something else where I can bleed it off or restrict it?

H2 or H3 buffer with G$ super cool guy spring? Or which sprinco spring?

Anything helps. Even the SD charging handle. The more I can do the more it’ll add up for a better experience.

I got an insane deal on a Daniel Defense RIS II 14.5” non-FSB and decided to do a clone-ish build. Sadly the RIS II is black. Since I’m not doing an extreme clone correct build if you were me are you leaving it black? I could cerakote it to a close DD brown but am feeling like it’s just extra.

I’ve already swapped the DD furniture and installed the G$ SSA-E. Got my UID in today. 2012 and later was mostly the square UID and before it was the rectangle one. Does anyone know why? Did it have something to do with SOCOM moving to the non-FSB Block II perhaps?

I’ll be grabbing an EOTech and TangoDown stubby but will likely skip the night vision version of the optic and PEQ cause I frankly never would use it.

Impulse buy. Always wanted an OTF since I was a kid. I never carried it or sharpened, modded or anything at all. Just opened/closed and put it in the safe. Comes with original foam wrapper and box.

Recently got into knives and it fizzled out. Am just a gun guy. Sold the Manix 2 XL you’ll see in my post history on the new GAFS.
