My husband just got out of reception and into Basic. I got the first scripted call today and I could tell he was just trying as hard as he could to keep it together. We have been together for 6 years ans have gone through some really hard stuff and I have never seen/heard him cry. It broke me. I know they are sleep deprived and mentally exhausted but has anyone had the call be like that and their soldier end up enjoying (to the extent its enjoyable) BCT.
