Why is Shepherd a class and not an origin ? And why does it need one emblem to reach 7piece ?

I'm trying to finish the star atlas and oh god this is impossible !

Most of the traits or champions are just too weak to secure 1. The worst part being the Shepherd trait.

I just noticed that it is not a class but an origin, meaning that you cannot craft the emblem with a spatula, but you need a pan (or a spatula and a reforger).

I thought every set with a summon trait, it was an origin and garanteed that you could reach the max level for this trait without an emblem (Noxus, Abomination, Cultist). Most of the time, you could even craft the emblem quite easily.

But in this set, Shepherd is not an origin but a class, such as vanguard, bastion or challenger (used to be a vertical too, RIP). Weird decison, when you have a lot of other traits that don't really classify as origin, nor they need an emblem.

Primordian emblem is totally useless.
Arbiter is a 4/3 trait. But being able to give the arbiter effect to another unit is kinda cool.
Time braker is the same : 4/4 trait, but having more stats on a champion is always cool, even if not totally useful.
Psionic is a 5/4 trait, same as arbiter. You can benefit from having a better item on another unit but who really does that ?
Nova is a 5/5 trait
Anima is elusive.
Mecha is not obtainable.

So the real origins/verticals are : Dark Star, , Meeples, Space groove and Star Gazer.
Do you think it is a bad choice of design and restrict the possibility to play another comp (which should be another vertical) ??

I find it kinda hard to get my hand on a spatula and a reforger. If not for emblem augments or encounters, it is almost impossible to play Shepherd 7 and it doesn't make sense to have the 5 piece so weak in this case.
