My former situationship moved into my building

This is one of those weird situations that you just think “dang, life can be funny sometimes..”

Going to try and make a long story short. A little backstory, in 2021, I left my long-term bf and I decided to try out a dating app. This one guy caught my attention with his opening message so I messaged back and we hit it off. We met on several occasions and still hit it off each time. Back and forth banter, laughing until we couldn’t breathe, followed by serious conversations and the most random topics. Time was flying by when I was with this man. It was genuinely refreshing each time we met.

Fast forward, we met on multiple occasions and established a friendship. Still wasn’t sure what his true intention was at the time. One night, he made a move and we had instant chemistry. I thought I had met my next boyfriend. I mean, time flew when we were with each other, nonstop laughter, and intense chemistry in the bedroom???? Checked all the boxes to establish something real. Especially with him saying it’s so hard to have true connections out there.

Anyway, this man asks me if we can be FWB. Basically, meet every now and then to satisfy each other because his words “he would hate to see this connection go to waste” I dumbly agreed. I wanted more but I just wanted to see him as much as I could. So 8 months goes by of meeting him during the nights and me falling more deeply in love with this man each time..

UNTIL, he tells me he met someone else and basically tells me we have to stop our arrangement. Of course I was heartbroken. It was out of the blue and our connection was so deep that I couldn’t wrap my head around it.

A few months after we stopped talking, he messages me asking if we can go back to our arrangement bc apparently that girl cheated on him. It took a lot to get over this man so I didn’t want to open the door for more heartbreak. I decided not to reply. I wanted to be wiser this time. So that’s that, I left him hanging

So… remember that long-term bf I had? He was trying to rebuild our relationship and trying his hardest to be a better man for me. I gave him another shot and our relationship was so much better this time around. It’s now 2025, we eventually decided to move in together after years and we found an apartment. We’ve been at this new place for maybe four months and then we notice we have a new neighbor.

A new neighbor you say? Who could it be? OH IT IS MY FORMER FWB WHO I LEFT HANGING YEARS AGO. I saw his car and didn’t want to believe it until I ran into him in the hallway. Sure enough, it was him and it was awkward. We’re both in new relationships but it’s so funny to know that I used to have a strong connection with the guy two doors down. My bf now doesn’t care and actually thinks it’s hilarious.

There it is… life can be funny sometimes. Don’t complicate things because they just might be your future neighbor
